Melania and Tivadar Vass are the parents of this miracle, but also the parents of her sister, Mira, aged 8. Hoping for a better future, Lara’s family now lives in Florida. 

Dreams and plans for a better life were shattered in just 3 days, during which time Lara was diagnosed with leukemia on May 31, 2020. It all started with a seemingly harmless rise in temperature, with doctors suspecting a virus.
